The Camp Fire Firefighters Biomonitoring Study

Camo-Paradise_Fire-Biomonitoring_Study.png

CBRC is studying chemicals found on the ground during wildland/urban interface fires in California and is working to identify those chemicals that may attach to smoke particles that are transported to communities downwind. We’re currently engaged in determining levels of contaminants in biospecimens donated by firefighters who were first responders in the 2018 Camp Fire fires. CBRC is dedicated to identifying sources of toxicant exposures plausibly linked to elevated levels of cancers among firefighters.
